Navigating the New Face of Special Education in Iowa

As a former district and AEA Special Education Director, I know the struggles schools districts can face delivering quality special education services. “Rapacious Learning: Special Education Consulting” provides an array of services to help your district evaluate their special education delivery of services and build a plan of action that will improve outcomes for students entitled to special education as well as day to day special education support as needed. Services offered include a special education program review at either the district or building level, special education support on an as-needed basis, professional learning for administrators, mentoring for administrators, assistance with determining AEA supports needed for your district, and Level 2 Investigations. I am a former BD teacher for Burlington and Des Moines Schools, a building level administrator at West Central Valley Schools, building level administrator and Educational Services Director for Newton Schools, Special Education Director for Cedar Rapids Schools, and an AEA Special Education Director for Prairie Lakes AEA. My vision for special education can be viewed at Special Education: It’s all About Results”.
