Special Education Administrator Mentoring
Mentoring for District Special Education Directors, Administrators who oversee Special Education, or Building Administrators. Each mentee will have an individual plan where areas of learning are identified and the mentor will spend time virtually and/or in person with the mentee to build their knowledge and skills around special education.
Phone-a-Friend Special Education Director
This is where a district does not need a full-time special education administrator but need support as needed. The time can be very flexible and can be in-person or virtual.
DDSDP
Every five years a district must complete a District Developed Special Education Delivery Plan (DDSDP). This requires the creation of a committee, the finished document going out for public input, and board and AEA approval. We can manage this process for you.
Mediation
This is a service we provide to help mediate difficult situations with parties who have a dispute. This could be with a family or between staff members.
Special Education Program Review
This service is one where we come into a district and do a thorough review of special education services in the district to determine current status and make plans to improve outcomes. The review can cover multiple areas or just one area. The data is collected using a review of IEP paperwork, achievement data, discipline data, focus groups, surveys, etc.
Examples of questions we answer in the review process…
- Do students on IEPs make more growth in co-taught classes?
- Do students make more or less growth after they are entitled to special education?
- Do students make more or less growth as para services are added or increased?
- Does behavior improve after an IEP is added for a student?
- Do students make more growth in Title 1, SDI, Title 1 and SDI, or no SDI or Title 1?
- What is the trend data for our achievement gap between students with and without IEPs?
Professional Learning for Administrators
We provide professional learning to administrators to meet your district’s needs. We have also developed a course for administrators where learnings provided around new knowledge and skills necessary due to the changing services from the AEA.
Special Education Finance
We will review your special education bills for accuracy and compliance. An example of an issue in this area is where you are billed by another entity for a student and the bill does not reflect the services in the IEP. This may be where you are charged for a full-time para when the para services in the IEP are for shared services are not full-time minutes.
Level 2 Investigations
If you have a founded Level 1 Investigation, we can provide the Level 2 Investigation.
